Started in 2000, Super Cr3w is a b-boys crew representing Las Vegas, Nevada and Riverside, California. The “3” in “Cr3w” represents the three West Coast Dance Crews: Full Force, Battle Monkeys, and Knucklehead Zoo. They came together after battling with each other. Realizing that they had similar styles of bboying, the three crews decided to form a name for themselves, thus “Super Cr3w” was born. Ever since then, they have claimed many titles and have been long life friends. When their friends (the JabbaWockeez) won Season 1, Super Cr3w decided to audition for America’s Best Dance Crew (ABDC) Season 2.
The six that were on MTV’s America’s Best Dance Crew Season 2 are Mike “Murda” Carrasco, Angelito “Vex” Casal, Jon “Do-Knock” Cruz, Abenamar “Ben” Honrubia, Ronnie “Ronnieboy” Abaldonado, and RJ “Rockadile” Puno. The attention they received from this television show sparked huge interest by thousands of fans. After all, their unique style of break dancing made them stand out compared to the other crews. It took 10 weeks and many challenges against other talented crews, but in the end Super Cr3w was named America’s Best Dance Crew Season 2 Champions. With their new found popularity in mainstream media, Super Cr3w started touring alongside Jabbawockeez, Fanny Pak, ASIID, and Breaksk8 in the ABDC live tour.
Though ABDC may have been how they got recognized by mainstream media, this b-boy team has always been “Super.” On the show, Do-Knock mentioned how Ronnieboy is the 2007 Red Bull BC One Champion, Murda and Ben are two-time Battle of the Year National Break Champions (2006 and 2005), and Do-Knock is a three time Star Search Champion. Meanwhile, Rockadile gains props too with more than 35 documented b-boy jam titles and Vex has no problems keeping up with everyone’s skills. Members of Super Cr3w have not only gained bboy titles; they have been in films [such as You Got Served (2004), Planet Bboy (2007), Stomp the Yard (2007), and Meet the Spartans (2008)] and they have also been in music videos and tour with music celebrities [such as Fergie, Sean Paul, Justin Timberlake, Paul McCartney, and Missy Elliot].
Super Cr3w’s dream is to continue to inspire all their fans and hopes that all their bgirls and bboy fans continue to stay hungry and passionate. Set your dreams high and never let anyone tell you that you cannot do it! Rip it!
